Dave Thatcher Seminar – Saturday 12 May 2012

We are delighted to announce that on Saturday 12th May Dave Thatcher will conduct a one-day seminar in the Waterford dojo.

Sensei Thatcher is a highly experienced martial artist who began his study of Ju-Jitsu at the age of eight and was a personal student of Richard Morris for over 39 years. In addition to Ju-Jitsu he has also studied Kendo, Iaido and Jodo to a high level, gaining British and European champion status in Iaido. He has worked in the areas of military combat and law enforcement training and developed programmes that have been officially adopted by the UK police force and prison services.

Most recently he has developed the Shin Juko Ryu style of Ju-Jitsu and continues to teach and train in this system. He was actively involved in the formation of the British Ju-Jitsu Board of Control and is a passionate campaigner for the maintenance of high standards within the art.

He has stepped back from 6th to 5th dan and has also given up his Shihan title in an effort to highlight the inflated grades of many high-ranked instructors.

It is a true privilege to have such a prolific and talented martial artist as a guest instructor and we look forward to the experience.

Training will take place from 11 – 4.30pm

Juniors finish at 1.30pm
